What Are BOTOX and Neurotoxins?
Each time you see your reflection in a mirror, are you bothered by creases and wrinkles on your forehead and in the delicate skin surrounding your eyes? Frequently called dynamic wrinkles and lines, these skin changes develop from repeated facial expressions, including frowning, smiling, and squinting. As people age, these lines become more pronounced and can make you appear worn down. With the use of neurotoxin injections, we can temporarily minimize the development of moderate to severe forehead creases, Crow's feet, and frown lines. BOTOX is made from a clean type A strain of botulinum toxin. It works to temporarily relax the muscles that create those movements, allowing the overlying skin to recover over time.
We also offer the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Dysport® and DAXXIFY®. Much like BOTOX, Dysport is a neurotoxin that uses a filtered form of type A botulinum toxin to temporarily relax particular facial muscles. Although the frequent movements that result in dynamic wrinkles will cease and the overlying skin will tighten, you will still be able to smile, frown, and make many different facial expressions without causing dynamic wrinkles. You will also see a rejuvenated look that won't look "overdone."
DAXXIFY is one of the newest neurotoxins available at The Spa at MPS. DAXXIFY is a long-lasting peptide-powered frown line treatment. This wrinkle relaxer is vegan-friendly, and many patients will begin to see results within 24 – 48 hours of injection. Results can be visible for up to six months.

How Are BOTOX and Neurotoxin Treatments Performed?
During your first consultation at The Spa at MPS, your injector will perform a facial analysis to help you determine which areas need treatment. Since wrinkle relaxers are performed as an efficient, in-office service, your injections can typically be carried out during the same appointment. The wrinkle relaxer formula is injected into specified areas of your forehead or face using a small syringe. The treatment itself takes only a few minutes to complete, and most individuals notice only slight discomfort (such as a pinching or pinprick sensation). Following your appointment, you can leave our Louisville, KY office and resume your normal daily activities.

Today I went in for Dysport that I had purchased during the open house. I was instantly greeted by the front desk manager (I can’t remember his name) with a beautiful smile. He even offered me something to drink! He was extremely inviting and so friendly. I had my visit with Trina, the lead injector at the spa. She was very knowledgeable, asked me if I had any questions before she started and even afterwards. She was so sweet. I have gone to another well known establishment in the area for years now for Dysport, filler and other things but after today’s visit I will be retuning back to Mays Plastic Surgery. I have deep acne and piercing scars on my face and heavy sun damage on my chest that I hoped to minimize.
